A legend says that the Baikal beverage was created as a counterpart to the "capitalist Cola" in the Soviet Union. While the color does remind of the famous "Coke", its taste and the composition are still unique.
For instance, depending on the recipe, the beverage contains extracts of coriander, bay leaf, eucalyptus, licorice and, of course, lime.
You can decide whether you like Baikal only having tasted different brands. Those differ not only in their price but also in their taste. Since 2009 there is also a German variant of Baikal named "Vostok". Joris van Velzen developed this branch beverage after he had worked for several years as a photographer in Moscow.
